Hello, I'm Kirstie. Thanks for being here.

I offer person-centred counselling online, for adults and young people aged 16+.

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming, confusing or difficult to navigate. Counselling can offer you space to pause, reflect and make sense of what you're experiencing.

You may want just a few sessions to work through things, or you might decide longer term therapy is for you, especially if you have issues which are more complex. It's your choice.

The benefits of online sessions...

Online counselling makes it possible to access support from anywhere in the UK and wherever you have a suitable private and confidential space.

Sessions can offer greater flexibility and remove the need to travel, making counselling easier to fit around your life.

About me

I began my journey supporting people in 2009, helping children and young people to manage their emotional wellbeing while working in a school pastoral role. I started my counselling training in 2010 and, after some life events paused my journey, I returned to complete my studies, qualifying as a counsellor in May 2025.

During and since my school role I have had the privilege of working with adults, teenagers and children from a wide range of backgrounds, supporting them through many challenging events and life-altering issues. I have supported autistic people, people with ADHD, and others with a range of other mental health and neurodevelopmental presentations.

Prior to 2009 I worked in accounts and payroll, IT, project implementation and data management. Having two children led to a change of direction and roles in pre-school, middle school and upper school settings and, latterly, a charity. As a result of this wide range of roles I have been exposed to many different environments which I find helps when supporting others - although naturally my experiences are unique to me, as my clients' experiences are to them.

On a personal level, I know how everyday life can be affected by unresolved grief and trauma due to having had my own difficult life experiences. Added to that, I have experienced so many impactful life changes that I have lost count! Working through the effects of these rewarded me with greater understanding of myself and a desire to support others who are seeking clarity and calm. My aim is to provide a space to help clients increase self-compassion and understanding which, in turn, can promote the positive change they are seeking.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and an accredited registrant of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society. I work in line with their ethical frameworks to ensure safe and professional practice. You can read about my ethical practice here.

My love of the Greek islands and their peacefulness led me to choose the Greek word galini for its link to serenity. This gentle, ancient word means a harmonious and balanced state of the sea, mind or soul.

Galene was one of many Greek sea goddesses and it is from her name that the word galini originated. It is believed that she guided sailors through stormy seas, allowing them safe passage to calmer waters. In a similar way, counselling can support you to navigate your route through challenging circumstances, and my approach is to travel alongside you as you seek your own tranquil space.
